KUALA LUMPUR, 18 SEPTEMBER 2019 – Yayasan MRCB has contributed Braillers to the blind students and funded repairs to ceiling leakages amounting to RM40,000 at the blind school, SK Pendidikan Khas Jalan Batu, Kuala Lumpur.
Trustees of Yayasan MRCB, Datuk Shamrat Sen Gupta and Dr. Mohamed Rafick Khan handed over the Braillers to the blind students, witnessed by the students’ parents and teachers in a simple ceremony at the school.
“With the Braillers contribution, we hope that these blind students will not only be able to do their assignments at school but continue to do their homework at home. Prior to this, the students had to share Braillers in the school only”, said Datuk Shamrat.
He added, “This contribution will help the students improve their studies in the long-term. We are also helping to repair leakages at several areas in this old school building. This is to ensure that the blind students can use the classes and corridors without having to worry about slippery floors. At Yayasan MRCB, we strive hard to ensure that we continuously identify impactful causes such as these and undertake various programmes to support needy students to enable them to lead a better quality of life in the future”.
