KUALA LUMPUR, 18 MAY 2020 – Yayasan MRCB collaborated with the Malaysian Relief Agency to provide food aid to 130 underprivileged Orang Asli families who live in the rural areas of Batu Gajah and Kampar, Perak. The selected 130 Orang Asli families received food baskets consisting of essential household items such as rice, cooking oil, sardines, flour, biscuits, detergent, toiletries, coffee, tea packets and instant noodles. These baskets were distributed on 16 May and 17 May 2020. “We hope that our little contribution eases the burden on these families amid the current crisis, where many people are struggling financially and facing challenges in getting food. I would like to express my appreciation to all the volunteers for their support and commitment,” said Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Chairperson of Yayasan MRCB. She added, “The foundation has also rolled out several community-based programmes and sustainable initiatives nationwide, as well as specific areas, to deliver social value to the needy communities and improve their livelihoods. Yayasan MRCB will continue to ensure that vulnerable communities are taken care of amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.”
